AmberSkies is no stranger to the world of creation and has been a professional cosplayer hitting the circuit and making waves since 2010. She was raised in her family’s gaming store/internet arcade where she spent every day raiding on World of Warcraft and defeating players thrice her age in Magic the Gathering (all while spam watching Sailor Moon and guzzling down as many Ramen bowls as she could get her hands on).

She is a native to Arizona and is thrilled to be a guest at this year’s Phoenix Fan Fest, of which she’s attended since its inaugural year. In the last 7 years, Amber has taken on elaborate and complex cosplays and prop builds. She has collaborated hand in hand with amazing companies and artists, such as Disney, Marvel, and doing promotional work for blockbuster films such as Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.

Amber specializes in detailed prosthetics, make-up work, and prop building. She can be seen cosplaying notable and often unseen characters like Te Ka (Moana), Nebula (Guardians of the Galaxy), Sergeant Calhoun (Wreck It Ralph), Dr. Lazarus (Galaxy Quest), Forest Spirit Shishigami (Princess Mononoke), Sonic the Hedgehog, and countless others. Her hard work doesn’t go unnoticed as she has competed and won first in Masters/Best in Show at D23 Expo 2017, San Diego Comic-Con International 2015 and 2017, Phoenix Comicon 2017, Long Beach Comic Expo, and more!

Her goal is to become a guest more and more at conventions simply to share her adoration for costuming with as many as possible. She loves giant hugs, seeing her beautiful friends at cons throughout Arizona and California, and using her professional creations to teach others and inspire them to create and love the cosplay community as much as she does.
