Widely regarded as one of the most gifted actors of his generation, Elijah Wood continues to challenge his craft with boundary-pushing roles that span an extensive array of different styles and genres across film and television.

Wood was most recently seen in Macon Blair’s I Don’t Feel at Home in This World Anymore, opposite Melanie Lynskey. The film premiered at the 2017 Sundance Film Festival to rave reviews and was released by Netflix on February 24, 2017.

In addition, through his production company SpectreVision, which was founded in 2010 alongside Daniel Noah and Josh C. Waller, Wood premiered Bitch at the 2017 Sundance Film Festival. The film shares the story of a woman (Marianna Palka) who snaps under crushing life pressures and assumes the psyche of a vicious dog. Other SpectreVision films include the comedy/horror film Cooties, which Wood starred in and produced, as well as The Greasy Strangler, A Girl Walks Home Alone At Night, The Boy, Toad Road and LFO among others.

In 2016, Wood starred in Alex and Ben Brewer’s crime thriller The Trust, opposite Nicolas Cage. The film follows David Waters (Wood) and Jim Stone (Cage), two crooked cops who discover a hidden safe and find themselves in the throes of corruption.

Wood made an indelible mark in the trilogy of films based on J.R.R. Tolkein’s The Lord of the Rings starring as the beloved hobbit Frodo Baggins. Directed by Peter Jackson, the films – The Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers, and Return of the King – were all critically acclaimed and broke box office records. Return of the King won the Academy Award® for Best Picture as well as 11 Academy Awards® in all, tying Titanic for the record.

With a career spanning 26 years, Wood has evolved his body of work with notable films including The Last Witch Hunter, Set Fire to the Stars, Made in Japan, Open Windows, Grand Piano, Maniac, The Hobbit, Celeste and Jesse Forever, Treasure Island, Happy Feet 2, The Romantics, 9, Oxford Murders, Paris Je’Taime, Day Zero, Happy Feet, Bobby, Everything is Illuminated, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Hooligans, Sin City, Ice Storm, Ash Wednesday and Black and White.

As an active philanthropist, Wood works closely with The Art of Elysium, a non-profit organization founded in 1997 that encourages working actors, artists and musicians to voluntarily dedicate their time and talent to children who are battling serious medical conditions.

In his spare time, Wood, alongside his long time friend, Zach Cowie, tour the U.S. spinning records under the name Wooden Wisdom. Wood currently resides in LA.
